Somewhere this is a walimah
Serving their guests-rich and poor
A meal to remember
Tender lamb
Well-seasoned
well-cooked
Hot out the oven
Fried chicken for those who are daring
Mash potatoes for an extra kick
Sweet yams for the deserving
With an assortment of drinks
Teas
Coffees
Sodas
Water
Somewhere there is a walimah in which the women are gathered around the bride
Giving her gifts to unwrap and cry and laugh over
While getting henna applied to her hands
The sisters dance to their favorite nasheeds called ” Prayer” and ” How Can You Deny?” by No Beats Neccessary
When the time for prayer comes they quickly make their wudu and form their salat lines to pray
The bride is truly proud for this to be her day
A day of love, remembrance, and joy
She enjoys her company and wishes for the best in the days to come
